I got this book last year but have only just got round to finishing it as I wanted to fully digest the information I was reading.
It is a truly superb piece of detailed literature which puts more meat on to the bones of stories I knew only the basics about prior to reading Money Can't Buy Us Love.
All the main men of the era are covered in great detail here (Catterick, Moores, Vernon, Young, Kay, the Trinity, Royle and Labby etc.) but so are those whose stories are not heard as often.
I found the bits on Albert Dunlop particularly fascinating and big Westy's personal battle with his own nerves incredible.
Well done, Gavin.

A fantastic book that is hard to put down. It gives a fantastic insight into the relationship between John Moores and Harry Catterick and it provides a great insight about the players who played for our club. Players that those of us who were lucky enough to see them, were idolised and adored.I would highly recommend this book

I am an avid reader & collector of literature on Everton FC.. Money Can't Buy Us Love is the latest by DeCoubertain in an illustrious collection on The Blues. The author catches the period involved perfectly and sympathetically on a true Golden Era in the club's history. Maybe money can't 'Buy Us Love' but this splendid book, which I devoured in an evening and the following morning brings back a treasure trove of memories, the like of which we hope to experience again in the not too distant future. Congratulations to Gavin on a job well done & thanks!
